I stepped outside the building....and the ground was completely dry and there was no water falling from the sky!

It was freaky.

Fortunately by the time I got home this environmental aberration had corrected itself.

i heard about the spectacular amount of rain on the west coast. a friend of mine was complaining about how vancouver missed setting a rain record by one day when it finally stopped - and how it started raining again the next day. at least you don't have freezing rain like in montreal right now. warriors of ice anyone?

Yepper..I live an hour away from Seattle...rain, rain, rain, and more rain!

The funny thing is, people here complain if there isn't enough rain, and of course, if there's too much!

**Meg..are you in Sweden now with Vroom???

Not in Sweden yet, unfortunately. Still in Seattle. Drowning.

Nia - we just missed a rain record here too, by a few days. After 27 straight days of rain, we had none on Sunday. No doubt Mother Nature was celebrating the Seahawks' first postseason win in living memory. But she got back to the raining on Monday.

Freezing rain, here, in Junkytown and around. You could play hockey on the roads with skates on.

We had the nicest winter ever until the other day. It was hovering around zero with just the right amount of snow and then on Sunday we got freezing rain followed by a nice dumping of 5 to 10 cm of snow. Made for some interesting driving that's for sure.

Now don't get ahead of yourselves.

They've only won 8 in a row.

The truly weird thing is that I have actually watched several of these games and THEY STILL WON! (YES! I'm not a jinx anymore!)

Im sorry, but the weirdest thing in hockey is that my beloved Rangers are still in second place.

Rest assured they will collapse and miss the playoffs...again.

By the way, you think Messier is still crying or what? I was at the game, great to see his number go into the rafters. However, could he stop crying for a second please?

It must have been hysterical on TV.

That's brutal, Huck Finn. Funny, but you're brutal! You gotta love Messier!
I'd poke fun at you if I wasn't a Kings fan. We'll probably be missing the playoffs right about the same time.

Hey Meg, any chance you could email me the clip of Ovechkin's goal?

I sent you the .gif, Vince. If you want a full clip I suggest you go here:
http://www.rh71.com/Projects/Ovechkin/

The file's too big for me to email, but you can download it there. That Ovechkin's some fun to watch, eh?

Not going to happen.

You should be happy I'm not a Ranger-hater. I'm perfectly happy when they win....as long as they aren't playing the Avs.

For what its worth, make sure you guys get to NYC and MSG for a Ranger game. I have been to a bunch of different arenas for games and MSG is the best place to watch a game. The only thing close to it was the old forum in Montreal.

Even if you arent a Ranger fan, there is something about the bldg that is special.

Here are the list of teams I've been to their home stadium.
Canadians
Devils
Blues
Toronto
Islanders
Flyers (Spectrum)
Bruins (Boston Garden)

Good to see Robitaille break the Kings all time goal record last night.

Go Rangers.

Nice list Huck!

I felt he same way about the Forum (the old home of the Kings). That was still hands down a better place to watch hockey than is the Staples Center. But at least I get to go to games (I feel for you Meg!). And by the way, thanks for the link Meg....what a goal!

Kings would be winning more games if it wasn't for the injuries (again). And there wouldn't be as many injuries, IMO, if it wasn't for the coach. His coaching style doesn't protect his star players. I don't mean to open this thread to a discussion on whether or not fighting belongs in hockey, but let's just say that I don't think it's coincidence that the Kings consistently lead the league in man games lost due to injury for the past 3+ seasons. As of last night, the Kings have had 8 players make their NHL deput with them this year. And earlier this week, we had 9 players out (for like the 3rd or 4th game in a row). 2 came back last night, thankfully!
I like the team the Kings have when we're healthy. But as long as Murray is our coach, we won't be.
