According to blabbermouth :

"Swedish death metal band NOMINON's (...)cover of VOIVOD's "Live For Violence". The "Live For Violence" cut will appear on the upcoming tribute to early VOIVOD, tentatively due before the end of the year through France's Nihilistic Holocaust Records."

I've got this from NH records :

"NIHILISTIC HOLOCAUST is searching for bands to appear on a sampler, to cover only the earlier VOÏVOD material! When this band was playing fukk off Death thrash metal mayhem!
The covered songs would have to be taken from the "War an pain" Lp or earlier Demo recordings! To revive the early days of Fukking death!

I want only Brutal, nasty, speed as fukk covers, Total thrash or Death metal! Don't ask me why there can't be covers taken from the following VOÏVOD Lps.

The production would have to be decent, at least 8 tracks recorded.

It would probably be released as a tape or a CDr.

Besides, No one would be able to properly cover the more technical material that came after War & Pain without totally fucking the song up

E-Force is covering "Nuclear War". Man, I would love to hear E-Force do "War & Pain" instead though... I have a boot from an early show w/Eric in which they cover that one and it slays!

I wonder if Noise is holding up the licensing rights to their part of Voivod's backcatalogue? I mean, it's not like Rrröööaaarrr isn't brutal enough to skin your average metalhead alive...

theres only so many double kick drum'd songs with singers shouting the F word you can take before it becomes extremely dull.

Hmm...How bout Pink Floyd doing a Voivod cover? Maybe "moonbeam rider" or "Nuage Fractal" something moody and mellow.

Well, huh?

That's an interesting idea MRS! I'd like them to cover Tornado in their 60's style, should make it sound a bit different...too bad the original lineup is a bit difficult to form again

How about "Missing Sequences" or "Into My Hypercube" covered by Syd Barrett?

Here's a pic of Syd around 1990:
