Ok, ok, now it's been a while since we had good Voïvod talk, I mean talking about the music, the concepts, the lyrics, album covers, and so on.

How will the next album will sound like? Is Phobos a classic? Do the Nothingface lyrics rule or what?

Shit, we're Voivodfans, lets hear it! This will be the ULTIMATE Voïvod apreciation thread.

Ok? To my signal...
Worship... NOW!

I was listening to The Outer Limits on my new vinyl player last night as I cooked dinner and was enjoying myself immensely. "Moonbeam Rider" is such an awesome song, as well as the rest of the album. I had just moved to San Francisco when that album came out. I went out and bought the cassette (ha ha) and walked down Haight Street with the biggest smile on my face relishing every note and nuance coming through my cheap headphones. That's what I want to experience again....and to love it so much that I'm not able to turn it off for weeks!!

Yes, they still rule

Had a similar experience today Hyper. Not just from listening but from listening and watching a ton of their videos/interviews/live stuff sent to me by the master bootlegger himself, SKULHED! So nice to see "tribal convictions" played on the tube. It again reaffirmed my belief that the true appreciation of music relies a great deal on the visual.

I listened to Nothingface for the first time in a while the other day. I'd almost forgotten how good it was...

I am a complete addict to Voivod. The best ones in my opinion still are: all of them...

But to say the lyrics on Nothingface rule??
I do not know simply 'cause i do not dig them at all. ai wish my english was a little bit better to dig those songs completely. I Love VOivod more for the special riffs and so on. Piggy is the best....

I don't know how to write it down in Englisch, but there's no other band that gives me that kind of satisfaction like Voivod's music does. I have no excact favorite album, that changes sometimes a bit. The song that gives me everything Voivod can give is absolutely Jack Luminous.

I have Voivod cd's in my car, my garage, at work and at home, that say's enough I guess

Grtzzz, DBC

You know what I like best about Voivod? It's when I'm playing my guitar and all my friend(s) go: "man, you suck. That's just noise" and I go: "man, I'm trying to sound like piggy, but I just ain't good enough" and they go: "oh man, that's cooool. Piggy rules. Keep trying maaaan" and look at me in awe at my attempt to scale the mountainous task I have set before me. It's unlikely I'll ever reach the summit, but I can do the laser gun thing!

Oh, and did I mention that Dimension Hatross is the best album ever?

Away has always been one of my favorite Drummers.
Some of those little things he does are amazing.
I loved the sound of his set on the Sepultura Tour.

Yup, Voivod is a kind of obsession: I can be a whole week just listening to one Vod album, over and over again, wondering "what's he playing in there?"

And for the Nothingface lyrics, I dig them very much. There the most poetic ever written by Snake. I don't understand all of them, even tho my english is not bad. It's more like a matter of interpretation. I mean, what's a "telestrobic heart"? It sure sounds cool, tho!

At last a Voivod thread, just for a change! I also love Voivod, especially, but not only, the 80's period, which peaked with Nothingface, IMHO. But latter day Voivod also rocks, especially Phobos (so far), which IS a classic with its HEEEEAVY overall vibe.

Oh, and I think the new Voivod will maintain the Voivod album sound, especially if Jason stays in the band (which is more likely to happen).

I really like the Eric Forrest CD's. Especially Phobos.

Everything else kicks major ass, even Angel Rat and TOL =P.
