EPHEL DUATH'S "THE PAINTER'S PALETTE" TAKES METAL INTO THE NEXT STRATOSPHERE

Davide Tiso, Ephel Duath's main creator, has assembled a bizarre and talented range of musicians and personalities to add flesh to his vision.
Lucio Lurosso George is the new "screaming vocalist". Described as a "Hardcore-Noise stage beast", his musical background is more in line with bands such as Isis, Converge, Hatebreed, etc.
Davide Piovesan is a 47 years old jazz-Drummer. He teaches percussion at a music school, and comes from a free Jazz, Avantgarde Blues background.
Fabio Fecchio, the bass player, is probably the most technical musically in the band. A true genius with the bass... He used tons of different basses for the album, and he's the "prog-guy" in the line-up.
Lastly we have Davide Tolomei, the clean vocalist, who comes from another scene entirely. His influences are in the Faith No More and Tool arenas.
With all these influences pulling at each other it comes as no suprise that Ephel Duath have managed to create an album that is pretty much unique. We've certainly heard nothing like it before. It's clear to everyone that Ephel Duath have managed to push the boundries of not only metal, but of music itself.

I have not had a similar [HOLY SHIT!!!!]listening experience since Hatross.........Check these guys out!!!

Cheers for the tip Mez. I'll check it out. Sounds like it'd be a cool gig to turn up to never having heard the band before. Like making sure you never see the trailers for a movie!
Fuck me, just realised you put 'upstairs at the gargae'... that place is fucking tiny. Holds about 50 people. Definately gonna go. Nice one!
By the way - got the vid! Gonna try and check it out over the weekend. Much Cheersedness, sir!

Well, see, I wanted H to go to that show with one intention. No, not to hear the music. But to see if he could get close enough to cut some shreds of David Tiso's hair and then mail it to me.

Here's the latest:

GIGS:

- just back from the amazing London trip! the show went very well(except h wasn't fucking there) and we did many inties and photos too! thank you everyone for showing up, we can't wait to come back!

- we are happy to announce that we've been confirmed to play the BRUTAL ASSAULT FESTIVAL in Czech Republic the 8th August 2003! we are one of the few "not-brutal" band ever invited to play, and we are damn proud to be a band that can play Jazz Clubs and Brutal Death Metal Festivals as well!! so for all the Czech fans, don't miss us and see you in Olomouc with Malevolent Creation, Kataklysm, Pungent Stench, Novembre, Hollenthon, etc... more info here

-now we are preparing ourselves to play the MAIN STAGE at the QUART FESTIVAL in Kristiansand (Norway) on the 5th July! (see below for details)
