Yes sir, i most certainly did.The "Album" cd wasnt bad (except the first song on it sounds like a total rip off of Stone Temple Pilots' "Sex Type Thing") as they're a few good songs on it, but it tends to get repetitious cuz most songs sound the same. But the best he did as simply Quorthon was the "Purity of Essence" double-cd. I love it. I bought it sometime in '97 and i still listen to it regularly. I refuse to call it a metal album cuz it really isnt. It's a great rock album, with great guitar. I think Quorthon's talent as a guitar player shows much more on there than on the Bathory albums. His singing voice is great on this as well. But most importantly, there are just great songs on it. Maybe releasing this as a double album was a little too much cuz obviously when there are that many songs (23 i think), you're bound to have filler in there somewhere. As for Bathory itself, Requiem (94) and Octagon (95) were absolute garbage. Just speedy crap that doesnt go anywhere. I'm not sure what the fuck he was trying to do there. In '96 he finished an album that got partially recorded in the '80s, which turned out to be the Blood On Ice album. Not bad. Epic stuff not unlike Manowar at times. And the last one (Destroyer of Worlds, 2001) was a mixed bag. There were 5 or 6 great slower paced songs that couldve been on Hammerheart, and more pointless garbage from the mid '90's. Oh and his vocals are insulting on the whole album. Bad. There's a new one comin' out at the end of this month called Nordland 1, and part 2 will follow in january. I havent seen a promo yet so i dunno how that will sound. More "Hammerheart" -type stuff i assume..
