ooooohhhh fuck me....my neck is all floppy and my ears are fucked...

Erm...a bit hazy as per the details of last nights gig, I think I was drinking outside when Hawkwind were playing. Anthrax played enough old tunes for me to fight my way to the front, and enough new ones for me to fuck off outside for another beer.

Motorhead were Motorhead, really. Not as loud as they used to be due to new council rules. Top stuff, though. Lemmy is age-less.

And not only did I perform my first ever crowd surf, I was also instrumental in forcing several other surf-virgins over the top. fucking superb.

Was the Lemmeister trying to sell his new book onstage? That's on my Christmas list for sure. And no, I'm not being sarcastic.

Emlyn, don't you like the more recent Anthrax stuff? I like Vol.8 quite much!

Mezcalmeister ( ), what's the title of that book? Sounds very interesting!

Sounds like it was a cool gig. I couldn't make it in the end. Had too much other shite going on all weekend. If it had been a better venue, I might have made more of an effort though!

I got Vol.8 too, and its ok. But lets be honest, its not 'Among the Living'.

Live, they just didn't compare either. Caught in a Mosh was fucking superb to hear, John Bush is so much better than Joey! But the new stuff? Nah...

Bring the Noise was my cue to get the fuck out of there. I don't care who does it - Rapping is the vocal equivalent of scrapping your nails down a blackboard.

From www.imotorhead.com:

LEMMY: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY
by LEMMY KILMISTER
WITH JANISS GARZA

Published by Simon & Schuster in hardback on 4 November, price £16.99

White Line Fever is the autobiography of the front man of the loudest rock band ever. Motšrhead are the most outrageous and excessive heavy metal band in the history of rock music and their drugged and drink-sodden antics make compulsive reading. Told with Lemmy's indomitable charisma and humour, this is LemmyÕs story in his own words: a rock icon who over the past thirty years in the industry has stayed true to his music, his fans and his pleasures.

Lemmy was born Ian Fraser Kilmister in Stoke-on-Trent in 1945, the son of a vicar who walked out on his mother when the boy was just three months old. Inspired by Little Richard and Buddy Holly, Lemmy formed what would become the ultimate metal group in 1975 and named them Motšrhead. The group went on to embrace a rock-and-roll lifestyle fuelled by drink, drugs and women, and in the process recorded nineteen albums and attracted a huge following. After a brief spell in the early Ō90s when the band fell from grace in Britain, Motšrhead are back with a vengeance, gathering more fans and getting great reviews for their latest album Hammered.

Lemmy is a survivor, a rock-legend who has been there and seen it all. At 57, few could claim with any conviction to have taken more drugs, drunk more bourbon or entertained more women than MotšrheadÕs lead singer. In this autobiography, Lemmy relates his tales of unbridled excess in his unpretentious, hugely entertaining style and ruminates on what has kept Motorhead going after 22 years.

WHITE LINE FEVER is a truly head banging tour through the last few decades of speed metal, offering a sometimes hilarious, often outrageous, but highly entertaining trip with the front man of the loudest rock band in the world.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Born Ian Fraser Kilmister in Stoke-on-Trent in 1945, Lemmy formed Motorhead in 1975. Fronting the band through the highs and lows of superstardom, Lemmy has recorded nineteen albums with Motorhead who remain at the top of their profession after 22 years. He now lives in Los Angeles.

Lemmy will be doing a signing at 6pm on Friday 18th October at Virgin Megastore 14-16 Oxford Street, London. W1. Here is your chance to grab the new book and get it signed by the legend himself!

"WTF!!!?????

To tell the truth, I was outside the door for the last half of their set, supping my warm flat beer. I honestly thought it was the opening act, some German Rammstein-esque band since they were playing some very fast techno stuff, which we thought a bunch of old men wouldn't be able to do.

Then again, even an incontinant Geriatric can flick the tempo knob on his drum machine to FAST.

So, I did catch the last couple of tracks, Lemmy coming on for Silver Machine no less. The rest kind of sounded like Ozric Tenticles only not as good. Sorry.

How the hell did we miss each other dude?????

Was it just me or did Anthrax deliberatley cut out every guitar solo? And I was gutted we didnt get Scott Not Ian's intro to Gung Ho???? 1st time i've seen John and he did just fine.

Shame about their tour shirts though??? I've got one just like that from the ATL tour in the early 90's.

Even the moshman face would have been better than the rehashed geezer from poltergeist 2 !!!!

Comforting? That's really fucking depressing. I don't wanna watch a bunch of escapees from the raisin farm flicking knobs on stage.

Its not just the "Knob-flicking"....its HOW they do the Knob-flicking!
It is a fine art.
The fine art of Knob-flicking.

You've got to know when to hold em,
know when to flick em.
