this is my first message here and I'm not sure whether I'm making friends here or not with this comment,

but to me this new "Voivod" cd is somehow similar to "Angel Rat". And yes - I think this IS very good album!

Another thing...I was huge Voivod fan from "Killing Technology" (my first Voivod vinyl) to "Angel Rat" (my last Voivod vinyl), somehow I lost them before "Outer Limits" ...what actually happened to Blacky? Did he leave band before, during or after "Angel Rat" recording sessions? If I remember correctly bHe plays on album but still??????

Blacky and the rest (especially Terry Brown) didn't see eye to eye on the 'sound' of AR. So it caused a 'falling out' There's some archived threads on this forum where Blacky discusses it.

I feel the new cd is more like The Outer Limits meets Dimension Hatross...if I had to compare it to previous Voivod releases.

Very Sci Fi like TOL but heavier like DH.

Schroeder, I couldn't agree more...

Is it just me, or do you hear the subliminal repitition of certain progressions on the new album too, just like in Hatross?

This album is more than just 'good' in the Voivod legacy. This album is amazing.

Welcome to the forum, both of you.

Not sure I can hear AR or DH in Voivod, I think it stands by itself. Outer Limits with balls and a fire in it's belly, if anything.

I can't help hearing "Quantum" when listening to "Blame Us" - just put Eric behind the mic and you've got Quantum II
