Time to post YOUR Favorite Metal Videos!

King Kula likes:

1. Voivod - Astronomy Domine.
The way that Blacky was spinning around on that thing was just TOTALLY cool, man!
(Even though it was really the Camera i think).

2. My Dying Bride - Cry of Mankind.
So very Anti-Christ. So very smooth. So very simple, yet cool.

Thats all i have for now.
YOUR TURN!

Ah yes, The Ultimate Revenge is a beautiful thing! Pro-shot Exodus and Slayer in their prime... good quality too! I always wondered why they didn't use any live footage from the Venom set that night...? Got that for my 16th birthday from my parents no less!

My favorite Voivod vid has to be Psychic Vacuum! I like the use of the film negatives and Away's computer stuff blended with the band... like when Piggy kicks into the solo and the background just totally flips out. The freaked out ending is quite nice too! It also helps that Psychic Vacuum is one of my favorite Voivod tunes.

Other vids... I'm not really too into videos that much and most metal vids are pretty limited. Something about watching the band lip-syncing to recorded versions of their song generally doesn't do it for me. Like Corpse, I prefer quality shot shows.

My music video claim to fame! Well, not really anything to brag about, but I worked on Kip Winger's "How Far Can We Go" video from his late '90s solo album! Ok, you can throw eggs at me now! In my defense, I did wear my Negatron shirt during the shoot! Fuck, that guy's shorter than Dio!

Ok. Let me expand on this Thread a bit.

LIVE Videos are ok too.
If you have one that you like more than the "Selling-out" (?) kind...then...
LETS HEAR WHAT IT IS!

My fav. LIVE Video:

Styx 'Come Sail away' HA!

SHIT!!! Skulhed...you are the fuckin' heavy metal video library!!!

I'll second the Scatterbrain "DUDE" video. Those guys were funny as hell and great to live!!!

I also prefer the live concert videos (actually DVDs nowdays) and some of my favs are:
KING CRIMSON 'Deja Vrooom'
COC 'Live Volume'
Metallica 'S&M' and 'Cunning Stunts' (go ahead and slam me but the sound and stage show is incredible, especially when all hell breaks loose on Cunning Stunts and the stage collapses and the guy catches on fire...cool)
Roger Waters 'In the Flesh'
Neil Finn 'When 7 Worlds Collide'
Deep Purple 'Total Abandon' and 'Bombay Calling'
Joe Satchriani ' Live in San Francisco'
The Who - Royal Alpert Hall'
Pearl Jam - 'Touring Band 2000' (cause you can see the sillouette of the back of my wife & my head during the song from Merriweather)

Just received the Megadeth 'Rude Awakening' DVD and waiting on the SOD dvd (thanx Warcorpse for letting me know about this one.

A couple years ago I sold my Ultimate Revenge video on Ebay and it fetched a cool $75.00...that blew my mind!!!

Venom were not shown live becuase Mantas could not make it to the country that night for some reason or another. They had 2 guitarists replacing him that night and they were pretty shitty. The good old days.
Favourite videos - Phsycic Vacuum, Ravenous Medicine, Tribal Convictions, Voivod, some old Floyd syuff I have with Syd, Evil Invaders, and most all of the thrash stuff that was shown on U-68. Anyone remember that station on TV in the 80's? Man I miss that vibe.

Hey Imran X!
Thanks for the info! Were you in attendance to that show? You're comment about the "2 shitty guitarists" leads me to believe you were...

Schroeder,
Dude! You actually let go of your Ulimate Revenge video!?!?! Wow, $75.00 is a good price but that's a tough one to replace and that's some of the coolest Slayer footage around and some of the only pro-shot Exodus from that era I've ever seen! Mine still sits near my television... I recently busted it out and blew a friend of mine away who had never even heard of it! Like Warcorpse states. it is a rare historic thrash vid!

most of Tool's stuff and most of Primus's videos are cool. I like Psychic Vacuum and Tribal best of Voivod, Trip at the Brain by Suicidal Tendencies was a cool video. i even saw by some stroke of fluke Venom's Blood Lust recently on Much, must have been some glitch in the system!

I am kinda sorry for letting the Ultimate Revenge video go...but I needed $$$ at the time and sacrifices had to be made.

I can't believe I left TOOL off my list of favs. Hands down the most creative vids made. The new one for PARABLA http://real.playstream.com:8080/ramgen/zodiac/parabola16.rm continues in the TOOL tradition that all other videos should be compared to but none could equal!!!

You are al gonna laugh at me when I tell you that I've never seen any Voivod videos except for Astronomy Domine. Shitty Much Music never plays them (even on their Metal show Loud) or when they do I missed it. I'm dying to see them. I hope the band puts out a DVD of them all. I'd be first in line to buy it.
Fave Metal vids? I too like the live stuff best butuas for promo vids, I'd pick thses:
1.) Anything by Tool. Adam Jones is a genius.
2.) Razor Video Anthology. Dave Carlo gave this to me when I interview the band on the shotgun Justice tour. Razor kicks ass.
3.) Ozzy Bark At The Moon. Great vid, great tune.
4.) Judas Priest Breakin' The Law - Sooo cheesy but so good too.
5.) Lee Aaron Metal Queen - even more cessy but she's totally hot.

All the Tool video's are amazing. I still think that Voivod's "... Domine" vid is my fave. The bit with Away and Blacky spinning around each other is soooo cool. As for live video's, NOTHING will ever match Pink Floyd's Live in Pompei. I'm not the worlds biggest Floyd fan, but that whole show is shot so damn well. Inspirational stuff.
