Well you see it is meant to show the western way of life (well, more the UK and US way of life) as totalitarian. Which is of course exactly the opposite of life in Iraq until recently, when those murdering bastard Allies moved in and deposed a solid, dependable member of the international community and imposed their tyranny upon a people who until very recently had everything they could have wished for. Naturally we're all oppressed and very downtrodden individuals who can't do anything considered democratic, without some dick of a law enforcement officer coming round with his mates, beating the crap out of us and leaving us to the alsatians they have in their van. Of course that never happened in Iraq...

Naturally the authors of these comic strips think they are being politically witty. Peronally I think they are a pile of tiresome, dangerously misleading bollocks, with the kind of wit that makes pulling teeth without anasthesia appealing.
