Tough one, since I spent the majority of last year filling some blanks on my collection. Some I remember, on top of my mind, are Mastodon, new Cynic, new Exodus, and I can't recall anything else as of right now, hehehehehehe. Not even the new Ratos de Porão, which Is unfortunately a by-the-numbers album, a major letdown after six years with no new release.

Same here, Slay.

I also forgot about Prong, they delivered as usual. And OFF! was/is pretty good too, but I'm afraid it falls under the "by the numbers/dial-it-in" category, which is OK I guess considering all of their songs sound the same anyways HAHA . The same can also be said about Autopsy.

I went and "acquired" the Swans album and didn't realize how good it was, I kinda gave up on them when they split in '96. Now I am heavily reconsidering that stance!

Mastodon-Once More 'Round the Sun
Tombs-Savage Gold
Wymyns Prysyn-Head in a Vise
Revocation-Deathless
Water Torture-Pillbox

--------------------

You'd better shake up your mind because if you're just staying blind integrity you won't find...

In retrospect, especially as my list was rather short, the Earth and Swans cd's should be in there as well, and actually Mastodon's last one wasn't that bad either. So here's my updated top 5:

666)Triptykon - Melana Chasmata
42)Swans - To Be Kind
8 Mastodon - Once More Round The Sun
3,14159)Primordial - Where Greater Men Have Fallen
-273K)Earth - Primitive And Deadly

Almost there:

0)Sunn 0))) & Ulver - Terrestrials
-)Dans Dans - 3

You are quite the mathematician there, Rat! I tried to figure out what you meant but gave up lolol

Now that I think about it, I spent most of last year just listening to old stuff, and I even compiled a list of all of the 80's bands (radio 80's, not metal) that meant a fuck haha. There are about 500 of them

Almost forgetting, Reverend Horton Heat's latest one, "REV", is very good.
