Try to see the glass half-full (of beer): You won't have to lug equipment around and all the pain in the ass that comes with playing, but you'll be able to enjoy 100% the Vod' gig. Naahhh, I'd be gutted too

First review from the Euro 2012 tour just in! As posted on the DFFD forum by a one Doomlord: "DOOM was fantastic last night in Manchester, pure crust with no mercy and they gave me acid like flashbacks to Planet-X gigs, I could not have asked for more. VOÏVOD was just on fire playing a faultless set of classics and a few new ones which seem to fit neatly next to older tracks, which for me can only mean that they themselves are future classics? I was grinning from ear to ear for their whole set. Personal highlights: All the cider punks coming out the walls like Aliens’ when DOOM came on, Police Bastards, Ripping Headaches, Killing Technology, The Unknown Knows, Forgotten In Space, Tribal Convictions, PIGGY PIGGY PIGGY’S In the room/Astronomy Domine... The list could go on and on so it would be eraser to just say my personal live set/gig of the year so far." Nice! (auto-spellcheck must have turned 'easier' into 'eraser'!)

Was also at the Manchester gig = the openers were loud, if sloppy. Jacknife Holiday or summat. They were OK I guess - but DOOM were superb - I also used to watch all-day hardcore gigs at Planet X in Liverpool as a teenager - so it did take me back 20-odd years. Furious pit action - and the singer twice stage dived. Proper old skool left-wing right-on protest choons. They even played Fuck Homophobia twice back to back. During the gig Voivod members were hanging around a side bar in the venue, I'd seen Away as I arrived, nipping out to the tour bus, but I managed to chat to Chewy for a bit - and also got Away to sign my Worlds Apart book. Got 2 T shirts as well while I was there. When they came on I got right to the front - easily done as I was there all gig anyway - and spent the set headbanging over Chewy's monitor - so for a guitar player I genuinely had the best spot in the entire venue! Watching all those riffs right in front of my face - it was almost like a personal tuition session. Earlier reviewer was on crack - they didn't play killing Technology. Started with Voivod to open the show. Then after a couple of tracks Chewy swapped guitars to a drop C-tuned black explorer with white scratch plate to play Forlorn. Old skool returned with Ripping headaches, Chaosmongers, Forgotten in Space my own highlight of the night - repeated shouts for Batman amused me no end - and I called out for Captain Scarlet too - but hey ho - mechanical mind was every bit as as schizo as you'd expect, but with that added electricity of the live performance. Global Warning was the representative from Infini. Unkown knows was fantastic too. Overreaction came soon after with Blacky arseing around entertainingly at the start. They stopped the gig to drink a round of shots - couldn't tell what it was though. I guess Blacky had a few too many scoops as he fell over a couple of times. Quality! They played a tune I didn't catch the name of - based on a tribe - the nik naks? With some mad breathing stuff at the start. Tribal convictions and Astronomy Domine dedicated to Piggy closed the show. Best gig I've been to since VdGG at the Manchester Academy last year. -------------------- Steven Hargraves Rhythm Guitar in Monstrance https://www.facebook.com/monstranceofficial

Kluskap O'kom ! My other favorite on Target Earth. Didn't get a chance to hear it live yet. Mi'kmaq is the tribe -------------------- (11) Le texte original dit quatorze, mais maintes raisons invitent à supposer que, dans la bouche d'Astérion, ce nombre représente l'infini.
