I'm sorry to hear that all you VVF-ers who had been looking forward to some US shows will have to wait a bit longer for some live Voivod magic, and I'm sorry to read that idiotic press release implying that Voivod is to blame for the collapse of a completely shite-sounding festival. However, we all know that Voivod has overcome far worse setbacks, right?

With a new album due out, hopefully they will also get that proper US tour with decent clubs, and an interesting and worthy support or two. In the meantime, here's my go at playing armchair promotor:

The Melvins recently announced plans for a "50 States + D.C. in 51 Days Record Breaker Fall U.S. Tour" -- have you heard about this?

Voivod's next US tour: as soon as the Melvins set the record, try to break it!

How? By following the same itinerary...and adding one or more "US territories" -- like Guam!

Or better yet -- hit the road *with* the Melvins. Wouldn't that be a fun bill?

Well, they've been through more bassists than Spinal Tap have drummers, so that's my bet. Not even a nuclear holocaust could take down Dale or Buzz.

The Melvins and Voivod would be a fantastic tour package. I also think a Voivod tour with Agalloch would be a perfect match, as Mez suggested on another thread.

Here's pipe-dream suggestion.
- Voivod [headline]
- Yob
- Vektor

Could be cool.

We know the Voivod/Yob combination works beautifully, bring it on!
Adding Vektor to the mix -- great idea!

Nomeansno-- love it, Luna. Or, yes, a tour with Kong!

Hmm, something must have been Lost in Cyberspace, I answered your email a while back and was eagerly awaiting your presents...I'll re-send it

I think KONG and VOIVOD would be amazing. Just them and their fans. No drawn out list of bands. In

What about this:

WOW!

I'm not like a mega-fan of this band but I respect the hell out of them. They're playing Heavy Montreal....isn't VV gonna be there??

Would be a killer tour lineup for the US!

By the way, it's been awfully quiet in the Voivod camp as far as news of touring goes, so I do hope something KILLER is in the works.

That would be a really great pairing! Gojira just suffered a tour cancellation because of the whole Lamb Of God fiasco, so seemingly would be be available. Musically, it makes sense as well.
