listened to the whole thing yesterday and while its got some good moments and i admire them not wimping out and playing the hell out of their instruments, the whole thing is an unmemorable blur to me. the acoustic love song part is pretty bad....

I second that. The new album is unmemorable.

"Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Some really cringeworthy moments on it - they outweigh the good bits! Opening instrumental is cool.

Dave's vocals have never been whinier though - and there are loads of really boneheaded voicovers.

If I was 13 I'd like it - but apparently they haven't matured with age any.

New album I'm enjoying though - Dethalbum 2 by Dethklok.

I thought about that too - If I was 13, I would think this is the raddest record ever.

And that "tv dinners... and beer" line struck me as some of the dumbest lyrics Mustaine's ever written.

Much like United Abominations, there's nothing wrong with the riffs, but the whole thing comes off cheesy. I like "Bodies Left Behind" alot, tho.

maybe I'll just pretend I'm thirteen when I get my copy.
I never got to the "TV dinners & beer" songs... sounds like a line that could have been on the MD.45 "The Craving" album (which kicks ass). Come to think of it the MD.45 project is probably the last great thing Mustaine recorded. Not that I've hated what he's done after that but there was always something missing didn't make it "memorable" (like Slaytanic said).
