Actually I do have an 8-track myself..(ADAT digital recorder, that is!) which could also be considered "retro" upon your gay-ass standards smed, since it's from 1991.

Getting back to my point, 8-track cassettes still rule for nostalgia and novelty...yes the format is completely fucked though! haha!! My friends in Mos Generator even went so far as to make a copy of their last album on 8-track! (thank goodness for 8-track tape recorders and stickers!)

Why? It's not a full analog recording in the first place, so this is a digital rip of an analog format of a digital recording. It's not a different mix at all, as far as I know...

Listening to Jack Luminous on the 12" does have its own special vibe. That's how i prefer to hear it, myself.
