Okay, so the mighty Priest was in town just a few hours ago and I have to say that for some reason I NEVER tire of this band. I have honestly lost count in regards to how many times I've seen them, but it has been just about 27 years since the first time I saw them on December 1, 1982 for the World Vengeance Tour.

And of course, we all know Rob can't really hit those high notes anymore, but damn, Victim of Changes is still one of the best songs live ever....for me, it's like No Means No playing Rags and Bones or Voivod playing Ravenous Medicine live. The intensity and crowd reaction is amazing.

Again, we all know that British Steel is considered one of the all time greatest metal albums with classics like Living After Midnight, Grinder, Breaking the Law, and Metal Gods, but opening your 30th anniversary show with a song like Rapid Fire is fucking incredible!

They rocked the Nostrodamus title track and played The Ripper at the cool slower pace of the studio album, rather than the slightly faster version of Unleashed in the East. I am also proud to say (and a tinsy bit embarrassed) that I got to once again sing the...."Oh,ooh, woh, ooh, woh, yeah....." just before Halford states, You've Got Another Thing Comin'. Hahaha, you hard core Priest fans know what I'm talking about! But still, after all these years, it's a great song, and still my mom's favorite. Glad she was there with us again all these years later.

I thought I was calling my second song of the night when Rob came out on his Harley (Hell Bent for Leather), but they threw me for a loop by blasting into another one of my favorites, Freewheel (fucking) Burning!!! Pretty fucking cool!

Considering this was one of the few shows that Priest played alone, I was disappointed they didn't play longer. They played about and hour and a half, but hey, they're old fuckers, right?! Hell, aren't we all? Just glad we dodged Whitesnake....

The only real regret of the night is that Luna wasn't there to share the fun with us, but fuck, she's on her way to Finland to see the mighty Voivod so I might forgive her....if she brings me back a t-shirt or something!!

Anyway, Priest still fucking rocks....'nuff said.

I'm jealous.
I consider JP to one of if not the GODS of metal and I have still yet to see them live!! Call me a loser.

Sounds like an incredible set list. The new live cd "Touch Of Evil" is pretty cool but it's just a bunch of tracks from various live shows and not one live that would have been better IMHO. But it's still the Priest and a must have for any metalhead.

It's cool to read that your mom went and had a blast also. What a rockin thrashin family. A family that head bangs together stays together.

I'm sure luna will have some good stories when she returns.

dude! you've never seen Priest live? wtf?!
haha Better hurry as my sis said they are old as dirt, but they rocked the house, errr casino! It was loads of fun and sounded great, best sound for a metal concert yet! Small halls and amphitheaters are great for acoustics imho.
Tipton was off last night tho. He kept fuckin shit up! the intro to the Ripper was silly! Dude! How long have you been playing that intro!? hahaa
K.K. kept looking over at him with a question mark over his head, it was actually kinda funny.
And it's about time they went back to the old school version of Diamonds and Rust, not that wimpy acoustic version they've been dishing out the past few tours.
Good times!

theres only so many double kick drum'd songs with singers shouting the F word you can take before it becomes extremely dull.

Halford might not have the pipes he had back in the day, but I dare you to name someone withing 10 years of his age that can come close to belting out a tune like he does. The man is without a doubt The Metal God.

I read Whitesnake dropped off the tour... what a strange combination anyway.

No shit! I guess I got the amount of CD's you own confused with the number of shows you've been to! Hahaha. I'm now waiting for the Screaming for Vengeance 30th Anniversary tour so we can witness the album in its entirety!

Cool pics, by the way, K-lo. Not bad for a cell phone

I definitely have way more cds and vinyl than concert memories... although I do have a good amount of those. Certain bands I would love to see have for some reason or another past me by and I've missed opportunities that I should have gone after. Now, living 3 hours one way from venues where the bands play makes it real difficult to get to shows, fit around my work schedule and not fall asleep driving home.

I do have all the Priest and Halford dvds which isn't exactly the same as being there live, although the sound is probably better, the beer is cheaper at my house, and I don't have to worry about some unknown dumb drunk fucker standing next me ruining my evening.
