Time: 8:00pm - 10:00pm
Location: Espace Dell'arte, 40 Jean Talon Est, Montreal, QCA chance to watch a live recording of Voivod & les Ékorchés for the ART TV show "les nuls sur les ondes" (idiots on the air). The evening's program: An excerpt from Voivod followed by a presentation from les Ékorchés. The group will present music from their new album (out March 3 2009). For those not familiar with the concept of the show, there will be a debate about metal music with two comedians. You must arrive by 8pm (8:15pm at the latest). There will be a draw for prizes. Assistez à l'enregistrement de la Culture pour les nuls sur les ondes de ART. TV. Programme de la soirée: Une prestation de Voivod, suivit d'une prestation des Ékorchés. Le groupe présentera une pièce du nouvel album (sortie 3 mars 2oo9). Pour ceux qui ne sont pas familier avec le concept de l'émission, il y aura un débat sur la musique métal avec deux comédiens. L'enregistrement va avoir lieu à l'Espace dell'Arte (40 ru Jean-Talon Est), 11 février. Arrivée: 20h (max 20h15). Il y aura tirage de prix de présence. Confirmation: marie AT indicarecords DOT com

pffft! he's not even my type!
 Anyway, the recording was alot of fun. I've never attended a tv show before so that was cool. There was a comedy trial on heavy metal for a while . The "against metal" lawyer had a huge poster of King Ov Hell from Gorgoroth and yelling how it's SATANIC!! and BLASPHEMOUS!!! and all that fun stuff. Meanwhile, the "pro metal" lawyer spoke of virtuosity in metal (and kept missing her lines so that was hilarious). Voivod played an heavily edited version of Tribal Convictions, then they replayed the "who's god who's dog" part with no vocals I guess so it's used to fade the show in and out of commercials. Dan Mongrain and Marc from Les Ékorchés were interviewed about metal, then Les Ékorchés played a brand new song (which was awesome!). Then to end the show both bands came and played a "bring the house down" version of Motorhead's Ace of Spades. The show is apparently going to air in the fall (booooo!), but once it does i'll make sure to provide clips. Thanks to Indica for making it happen!
