He was a total badass. Got to shake his hand once, it was at a car show a few years ago, he was signing this b/w photo of him crashing on a motorcycle in 76, he wrote "Happy Landings..."

DAMN!!! I grew up watching this guy defy death, and I think I even had his action figure. He's a fuckin legend like the Elvis Presley of daredevils.
