Is here someone, who plays golf and could give some advice? I have to play a bit this friday and have never done it before.

I know, it's not very metal.

Jeez - Golf. It doesn't get more metal than that!

What other sport can you just saunter around a big landscape garden, with a huge bag full of beer cans sandwiches and spliffs and spend five hours getting a sun tan while you are at it.

Seriously though - if its good enough for alice cooper....

Just google "golf tips" or something.

I played it to bond with my dad - but he's too sick to play now. I may take it up again when I'm in my 50's

So did I, and now I love it. My dad also got too sick to play and it broke his heart. I haven't really played much since having back surgery, but it's on my list of things to start doing again. Working out is on there too since I'm starting to feel like a pasty veal.

I found a good thermal once maybe 200 meters above a green. Got me up to 550 meters fast.

So, golf can be good for more things than producers of funny clothes i guess?

I play golf with my Dad and my brother sometimes and it's pretty fun if you don't take it all too seriously. Almost nailed a big-ass frog once while playing in Arizona.

Last time I played was with a good friend of mine back in '92...we were pretty drunk and we decided to go hit a few holes...we rented the clubs and got paired up with an old retired couple. Needless to say, they weren't very happy, as they had to wait at every hole for us to catch up. Yeah, I guess +9 +10 over par every hole would make you wait a bit too!

(the people ahead of us on the opposite fairway weren't too happy with us either....ooops, there goes another slice!)

Good luck. Have you gone to driving ranges? Just going out on a course with no clue could be a bad idea.
