Just read an old (Negatron time) Rock Hard interview with Away:

After Snake had left the band, Away wanted to give up Voivod. He went in those days to a Ramones gig. After the Ramones recognized him, they dedicated a song to Voivod, what changed his mind.

Did you know that?

In another (Phobos time) Rock Hard interview with Away these informatoins are written:

Negatron sold 75.000 copies. (Nearly can't believe that.)

Away (!) composed with guitar Nanoman and The Tower. This means something, especially for the time, when the Laptop is empty.

I love that. What song was it?
Glad he did it. Otherwise we wouldn't have killeralbums such as Negatron and Phobos ans would we know of E-Force and PPF ???

Away thank you for going to that gig.
Now you can see what little dicisions can grow to...

Cool story! If that's really the case, I owe the Ramones soooo much!

Nanoman was written with Ivan Doroschuk, the Men w/o Hats guy, maybe they all were just messing around and the song started to take form.

Thanks for the info!

Ahh. That's nice to hear. I'll add that to my list of reasons I think the Ramones are the single best musical entity ever born of the U.S.

In the interview it is said, that Ivan alone wrote the lyrics for "Nanoman" and together with Away for "The Tower".

Don't forget Sideways, Mw/oH's "grunge" album, with Away on drums an a nice old-school Genesis font on the cover...
