In case anyone missed the string quartet doing the Voivod Medley (arranged by Dj Ram and performed live at the CBC studios yesterday), well, here it is:

Holy shit, that's fucking cool! I love their interpretation of Experiment. This would make great horror movie soundtrack music.

Yah and since some of these riffs were basically inspired (sometimes even flat out stolen) from movie soundtracks, it's coming full circle.

Thanks for the mp3, DJ RAM have done a really good job, the way the songs blend together it's flowing like it's just one song.

It reminds me of the prog band Univers Zero.

It's was the highlight of the Bandeapart special in my opinion.

I think this is the progression:

Voivod
Nuclear War
War and Pain
Experiment

and then towards the end I lose focus, I think they cut into Voivod again, like a reprise, but I don't know what the very ending is, maybe later when I wake up all the way

My thoughts exactly, Voivod's music translates better to strings than Metallica's. Sounds like Bartok.

Damn !! The "Forgotten in space" part reminds me so much of Shostakovich's string quartet No8. Amazing.
