BLACK SABBATH To Be Inducted Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

2005-11-25 07:38:35

According to Tony Iommi's official site (Iommi.com), BLACK SABBATH will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at the Twenty-First Annual Induction Ceremony in New York next March. There are plans to broadcast an edited version of the ceremony on VH-1. OZZY OSBOURNE attempted to take Black Sabbath's name off the Hall of Fame's 1999 nomination list, deeming the institution's nod "meaningless." In an October 1999 letter to the Hall of Fame, Osbourne said: "Just take our name off the list. Save the ink. Forget about us. The nomination is meaningless, because it's not voted on by the fans. It's voted on by the supposed elite for the industry and the Media, who've never bought an album or concert ticket in their lives, so their vote is irrelevant to me." He says, "Let's face it, Black Sabbath has never been media darlings. We're a people's band and that suits us just fine."

Black Sabbath became eligible for induction for in 1996.

One of the more intelligent and "coherent" statements he's ever made!

It's fucked up how it took so long for Sabbath to get their spot in the hall of fame. without them, so many bands would never exist or even been form. They shoulda been amoung the first bands in the place if it was a reall ROCK n ROLL hall of fame, and not a popularity contest for the suit and tie guys who deside on it.

Ozzy was right.

Ozzy was right before he (or more properly, his wife) realised how much money could be made by whoring themselves out to the mass media.

Yep!
Probably more money for ol´Sharon's face restoration projects needed. Ozzy himself seem to be a cool guy when he occationally manages to get his opinions through the wifes garbage.

OZZY OSBOURNE Jealous Of Wife; Fearful Of Abusing Meds

2005-11-25 11:05:51

OZZY OSBOURNE site Ozzyhead.com has issued the following report, via ContactMusic.com:

In a recent interview, Ozzy talked about his jealousy about wife Sharon, and his fear of abusing medication.

Ozzy was guided through his solo career by Sharon after being fired from the band in 1979, often feels overshadowed by her fame since she went on to judge UK talent show The X Factor and was given her own chat show.

But he does enjoy the healthy time apart they enjoy as a result of Sharon's career commitments.

He says, "To be honest, I was a little bit (jealous) at first. It's not jealousy so much; I think my ego was damaged a little, but now I don't care as long as she's having fun and doing what she wants to do.

"It gives me a chance to have a break from her saying, 'When are you going to finish the album? When are you going to do this?'"

Ozzy asks his assistant to dish out his sedative medication because he is scared he will abuse it.

Ozzy, who has a well-publicised history of drink and drug abuse, takes tablets daily to treat Parkins Syndrome, a condition which causes his hands to shake.

He says, "Sometimes I slip up. I'll have one too many sedative pills.

"I'll try to give my medication to my assistant so that he'll give them to me in the right amount, because otherwise I'll end up messing around with them."

Ooooooo.....

Sweet!
It's aboot time dammit!
So it's all Sharon's fault that his last cd kinda sucked. She is pressuring him and he is releasing crap. She needs to go away!

the mooning was the only rough part, i think. i wish they had kept playing "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath". (odd how the other inductees all had some one else cover their songs, but not Sabbath, haha).i liked the mini-documentaries on each band. it was a pretty decent show.
