Working on a web site all day, I found myself listening to a lot of live albums. I came up with my 30 best ones that I OWN - on CD or LP.

My preference in that order:

THE WHO - Live at Leeds (deluxe edition - only! A killer! )
THIN LIZZY - Live and dangerous (remastered - another killer!)
JOHNNY CASH - At Folsom Prison (American Milestones)
RAMONES - It's alive
JOHN COLTRANE - Complete 1961 Village Vanguard recordings (4 Cd box set)
FRANK ZAPPA - Roxy and elsewhere
NEIL YOUNG - Live rust
TRAGICALLY HIP - Live between us
UK - Night after night
JUDAS PRIEST - Unleashed in the east
QUEEN - Live killers (double LP)
THE SMITHS - Rank (LP)
WINGS - Over America (double LP)
ERIC CLAPTON - EC's Rainbow Concert
JOHNNY CASH - At San Quentin
AIMEE MANN - Live at St-Ann's Warehouse
PLUME LATRAVERSE - Noir et blanc
AEROSMITH - Classics live II
U2 - Under a blood red sky
SAXON - The eagle has landed (LP)
CHEAP TRICK - At Budokan
JACKSON BROWNE - Running on empty
SUZANNE VEGA - Live in London 1986 (12")
DOORS - Live in New York (from the Box set, CD #2)
KING CRIMSON - Absent lovers (maybe because I was in the crowd that night)
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN - Live at Carnegie Hall
JOE COCKER - Mad Dogs & Englishmen (double LP)
VARIOUS - The Bridge School Concerts (1997)
PAGLIARO - Live (double LP)
KISS - Alive II

Mmmm... How about you? Recordings that YOU OWN.

Too bad. I used to own it. Got my vinyl signed by Lemmy and Phil Taylor back in the early 80s - I interviewed Lemmy for a rock magazine (Pop-RocK), such a cool man!
What a ***** LP too! The loudest with Live at Leed. And Kick out the jam... and...

How could I forget MOTORHEAD ? ! ? ! what a dumbass I am ... love that album

Hey Luna, just be happy this wasn't a thread about favorite bootleg recordings... although I could just post a link to my traders list online

I guess I got a bit carried away... If only I was more narrow minded and didn't like lots of different music... although if that was the case I probably wouldn't be HERE

Did you know that last year, Away and Piggy were approched by Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto to be part of their concert here in Montreal?

They asked the 2 voivods to improvised on a piece for about 15 mins.
But the 2 Crimsons cancelled their tour... poor tickets sale.
Away and Piggy were disapointed, you guess.

I was going to go see the TU when it came to Annapolis, but as you said... it got cancelled. I was totally pissed. Trey and Pat are awesome musicians and work incredibly well together. I have the cds they have released... very original.

I woulda killed to see them with Denis and Away... damn... or at least to hear a recording of that show That would have been one hell of an improv. 2 drummer of that magnitude, with Piggy doing his thing, and Trey making all kinds of cool sounds... fuck, I can only imagine it.

They seemed to have cancelled the tour rather quickly, but I guess they would just kept loosing money if the tour progressed the way it was going.

Somehow I knew you were gonna mention this album.

It rocks harder than almost any live (or studio) album I ever heard. Everyone should own it.
