DAMN COC & CLUTCH ! ! ! I missed that tour when they were 3 hours from my house. 6 hours of driving to a show takes a toll on me especially when I would have been drained of energy after those 2 bands played. Not to mention having to be awake early for work I coulda cross 2 bands off my "need to see" list with that tour. ENJOY and give us a report -------------------- yawn

COC & Clutch 26th January 2006 Wedgewood Rooms Portsmouth. We walked through the wintry streets of Portsmouth, on the south coast of England, a little late to meet our friends in The Edge bar. As we cued up for the Wedgewood Rooms looking forward to the support band, we caught a glimpse of our mates in The Edge bar. We gestured that we'd meet them in there. We knew the support band, given that they were on the same bill as two of the best bands from the states, were going to be worth their salt. We were so stoked that they were playing in this small venue in our hometown. The support band were Stinking Lizaveta and we caught them from the beginning. They were bloody brilliant. They had a female drummer; she was one of the best drummers we'd ever seen, hitting everything everywhere all over the place. The bass player was hammering out rock hard riffs on a double bass (miked-up). The guitarist was on old hippy dude playing a Gibson Les Paul very fast and screaming into his guitar, audibly. It was very strange, but good. He gave his guitar to a couple of schoolkids at the front, who shredded on it as we all cheered. When Clutch came on we were standing at the back of the packed venue drinking and chatting to our mates. So we didn't really see much of them. They sounded ok. We finished our drinks and then went down the front for COC. We stood right in front of the speakers just feet away from Woodroe Weatherman, who was standing on a low stage. The band were clearly enjoying the gig. They gave us ten ton riffs especially on Stone Breaker and In The Arms Of God, which they dedicated to Dimebag at the end. Rise River Rise was the stand out track, in which Pepper alluded to the recent disaster which befell his hometown New Orleans. A jolly good night was had by all!
