I was in Houston, FUCK! I did manage to see Morbid Angel last Wed, not bad considering the last album. Was surprised Sandoval wasn't drumming, but Tim Yeung did a great job. Met Vincent too, woohoo. --------------------

Saw Neurosis a couple weeks ago, only the second time ever (first time was opening for Heaven and Hell, it was a one-time deal that the promoter somehow pulled off, but it was pretty weird cuz it was an arena type setting, seeing them in a club is certainly the way to go!), they crushed.Gonna catch Down and Warbeast tonight. Warbeast is a thrash band from Dallas, the singer was in Rigor Mortis and a guitarist was in Gammacide. Should be cool! Coming up from now till the end of March looking at alll sorts of possibilities: 1/24 Big Business 2/2 The Sonics w/ Mudhoney (WTF!?) 2/3 D.R.I. 2/6 Red Fang 2/7 Soundgarden 2/8 OM 2/10 Hot Tuna (acoustic) 2/11 Enslaved 2/12 Tomahawk (FUCK YEAH!) 2/15 Nashville Pussy 2/17 Bone Thugs-n-Harmony (20yr reunion) 2/19 Doro 2/20 Soulfly 2/21 The Residents 2/22 Galactic feat. Corey Glover (SWEET) 2/27 Patti Smith 3/1 Reverend Horton Heat w/ Jello Biafra (huh?) 3/21 Nile 3/22 Danko Jones 3/23 George Clinton and P Funk 3/29 Clutch w/ Orange Goblin 3/30 KMFDM 3/31 Zeke w/ Fang 4/30 Killing Joke --------------------

The show at the Fillmore in Silver Spring MD was intense. I should also mention that the band 4ARM opened and fuckin' LIT IT UP!!! I just ordered their cd from Amazon. Flotsam was amazing. It's been years since I've seen them, but they just as good (like all the bands) as they were in "the day". They did a greatest hits set from old classic albums. Iron Tears, Hammerhead, No Place for Disgrace, and the title song from the upcoming release "Ugly Noise" which they had for sale at the show... OF COURSE I BOUGHT IT and it's fucking brilliant. It officially comes out in April. Got Eric AK to sign my "The Cold" cd booklet.OVERKILL did tons of great tunes, but they'd have to play for at least 5 hours or more to do all the songs I would want to hear. That band is fuckin' TIGHT!!!! Blitz still brings it like it's the late 80's, and of course we had a roaring crowd participation of FUCK YOU. TESTAMENT... what needs to be said about them? Brutal, heavy, what thrash is suppose to be. There wasn't much slamming going on, just a couple small pits once in a while that didn't last long. Everyone just wanted to enjoy the music and watch a bunch of great musicians. A more mature acting audience than what I experience in Baltimore last year for Testament/Anthrax. Great night. -------------------- yawn
