Good news indeed. They've announce a major tour of the US, on the back of announcing their hosting of next year's ATP festival, in February, in the UK. A four berth chalet booked, and my prayers answered! Thank you, Mithras! This more than makes up for Shellac NOT inviting Voivod to play at their event! I expected it, I though Albini was a fan? Surely, it's long, long overdue?

I'd love to go to this as well, but I'm terribly cash-poor right now. They've announced a second date for the London gig for anyone else interested. I have read Dave Pajo claim that they won't do his again, so without wanting to employ too much hyperbole, you might not get another chance - ever! Mind you, Frank Black wouldn't even talk about the Pixies for years and now look at him.....

I swear, I am the only person on earth who thinks Spiderland (1991) bears some unerring similarities to some Nothingface tracks (the acousticy starting ones with whispery/singing vocals by Snake)Also, Slint's good/okay, I've owned all of their records at differnt points, but am I also the only one who thought the media hype in the last few years was amazingly huge in terms of Slint being overrated? People referred to Slint as like, the indie Led Zeppelin I'm serious, as being "SO IMPORTANT." That notion somehow always eluded me, I guess that happens... Anyways, on some indie sh*t, seroiusly, if you want IMHO some appealing progmetal Voivodish at times- music, check out Drive Like Jehu's two legendary CDs...sort of like Voivod, King Crimson, and Sonic Youth combined...(oh yeah and people compared them alot to fugazi but they're more proggy)
