DAMN!!!!

Being originally from the Baltimore area, this is great news... even though the Yanks are far superior than the dismal Orioles, it's nice to see them get insulted on the feild every now and then!!!

Go Yanks!

I hate the yankees with a passion. Infact, it's too easy to be a yank's fan, especially these days. I hate them even more now that they have A-rod. (I'm a Seattle fan btw) Money buys everything in baseball, especially if you're George Steinbrenner. I truly wish there was a salary-cap because of him.

I'm only thankful that they can keep losing in the division/alcs series' when it really counts!

Sox look great and keep on winning. Very nice to see the Skankees get drubbed yesterday. 6 games left with each other. I like it.

We have a shitload of Sox fans here! Are all of you actually New Englanders, or just anti-Yankee fans? I grew up in Boston and live in NH, so I bleed Sox blood.

We won last night (10th straight) and the Yankers lost one, so we're 2.5 back. This is getting good!

No, I'm actually located on the other side of the country about an hour west of Seattle, and "YES", I'm very anti-stankees! There's also something else about the skankees that I truly despise: their fans! It's that mentality that the whole world revolves around NY which really pisses me off! (can anyone here really say that the last "subway-series" mattered to anyone except if you were from NY?)

Boston, imho, is about true baseball, granted they also have a high payroll, but to me they stand for what's "pure" in the game! (I'd love to make it over to Fenway to see a home game at least once before I die, but I hear that it's next to impossible to get a ticket! Is that true?)

As far as teams go, I'm definitely a "Mariners" fan, although they aren't doing so well this year. I figure that they'll be back on the "up and up" in the next couple of years or so. (that's usually what happens with teams who are in transition, hopefully the players we brought up from AAA this year will make their mark, namely "Bucky Jacobsen" since Edgar is now retiring!) And to me being a true fan represents an undying loyalty through good times and bad times!

I generally side with The American League (except for Texas, Anaheim, and Oakland of course!) so you'd probably see me "sporting" many different hats throughout the year! Nevertheless, I'm truly a baseball fanatic, there's nothing better to me than watching that good 'ol duel between the pitcher and the hitter (I fondly equate it to a "chess-match" )

What a 9th last night!!!! I'm still buzzing - that was too awesome.

My bro visited a Yankees forum last night and a bunch of their delightful fans were saying things like "how could you call yourself a Yankee fan and NOT interfere with Manny catching that homerun ball?!?!" and "they shouldn't let Red Sux fans in the stadium!".

All I can say is HA HA HA.

Nah, Manny caught a ball that was out of the park, and no one tried to interfere with the catch and make him drop it.

Pedro is illin', and not in the slang-term sense either, but rather in the "ill-sense"...it seems as though the pitches that count the most end up over the fence!

Unfortunately, the season was over for me when those damn Astros came out of nowhere and took us (Giants) out I was thrilled to see them kick those dumb-ass tomahawk weilding jackasses out last night though!

I will be a Sox fan for the next series, but am hoping that those Astros do go all the way.....just because.

Just wondering - is it acceptable, or even common place to switch your support to different teams every season? Or is it like the UK where you support your local side no matter how shite they are?

You support the local team no matter how shite they are....unless you grew up somewhere else and grew up supporting a different team. In which case it's acceptable to support them or even have dual allegiances.

In the playoffs though, after your shite team (*cough*Mariners*cough*) is no longer playing, you can pick whoever the hell you want of the teams that actually made the playoffs.
