i need some drummers input on a cd track list, of their favorite VV songs. i am trying to give someone a cd thats never heard voivods music. the guy is about 8 yrs younger than me and hes in a hardcore band now.
we were talking about music and jaming, i was suprised his top band is RUSH.

tracks (1-12) any suggestions besides my own?

Sorry I'm not really a drummer (I'm using drum machine to get ryhtms for my songs...) but, in my opinion, The Unknown Know should be placed as the first track of any VV compilation...

Just give him a cassette with Dimension Hatross on side A and Nothingface on side B. Put the thing into an auto-reverse tape deck and strap the speakers to his ears for 3 days. And tell him if he doesn't like it he's a damn fool!

Actually, you don't need to strap the speaker, as Voivod music is naturally adictive. You can spend days, weeks, only listening to a single Voivod album, in a kinda obsessive way, because it just suck you in (like a tornado).

Anyway, Unknown Knows should be track 1 ,Tribal track 2, Killing tech track 3, Lost Machine track 4 (there's that drum break in that tune, during the "Remain silent..." part that's unbelievable, I think), then after that do what you want.

Good list, ugly ass. My suggestion is, add Sub-Effect.

Order Of The Blackguards - As a person who used to play drums I loved it. It's got all sorts of styles going on.
