*BUMP*Coz Zappa iz cool, and all. Lately, I have been rediscovering a few Zappa albums that I never really got into. Monday night was "Lumpy Gravy", which I listened on earphones and on one sitting. Quite stunning, but you really have to sit through it, and LISTEN to it. Zappa has never been a first listen enjoyement (like Voivod!) and it's so great to have musicians like that, that you can listen over and over and still discover new stuff. Last night was "Weasels Ripped My Flesh", again with earphones, and in the dark. It was scary and fun, and when the title track ended ("Weasels" is like a 1 minute rumble of noise, followed by Frank saying "Thank you for coming to the show..."), I just stayed there, in darkness and silence, thinking how great this album is after all! Ok, enough about me. How about youze guys, any similar experiences?
