Speaking of Tull, there is an acoustic bit toward the end
of 'A Passion Play' that is so gorgeous, it's otherworldly.
It is really brief though, so I made like a 3.5 minute loop of it.
Maybe I'll upload that sucker.

But for pure acoustic/ classical from a rock guitarist, nobody beats Steve Hackett.

There was one that Alice in Chains did on MTV Unplugged. Dont know the name of the Song.

I really just HATE it when rock bands do ballads. I mean, Aerosmith and Scorpions, aren't those supposed to be hard rock bands? Then stop MAKING STUPID BORING BALLADS, YOU FAGS!! KILL!! DESTROY!! THRASH!! BREAK STUFF!! SENSELESS VIOLENCE!!! ARGBTZGRTB!!!

Anyway, I really like all the little acoustic instrumentals on the old Sabbath albums. Like I always say, Tony Iommi rules! (And Piggy too.)

Just a few goodies of the slightly mellow variety that I would consider my faves...

Kansas - Dust In The Wind

Pink Floyd - High Hopes, On The Turning Away (live), Marooned, Shine On You Crazt Diamond

Alice In Chains - Right Turn

Opeth - Harvest, Patterns In The Ivy II, Still Day Beneath The Sun, Benighted, (the list of cool acoustic stuff goes on)

Chris Issak - Wicked Game

Hammerfall - The Fallen One

Accept - Winter Dreams

Iced Earth - Melancholy (Holy Martyr), Watching Over Me

Death Angel - Veil Of Deception

That's all I can think of for now. I believe I shall make a mixed CD now. Cool thread!
