JAMES IHA Is A PERFECT CIRCLE's New Guitarist - July 10, 2003

Former SMASHING PUMPKINS guitarist James Iha has officially joined A PERFECT CIRCLE, according to MTV.com. Although Iha didn't contribute to the band's new album, "Thirteenth Step", he'll be onstage for the band's 12-date club tour, which begins July 26 in Denver.

In related news, on August 5, A PERFECT CIRCLE drummer Josh Freese will release a jazz-influenced solo record called "Strip Search" on Magna Carta Records. Bass player Mike Elizonzo and guitarist Michael Ward join Freese on the album.

:::

This is GREAT news!
James is one of my fav Guitarists!
Now they have him AND one of my fav Bass players, Jeordie White (Twiggy, formerly of Marilyn Manson Band)!

The only problem with theyre Dallas stop, is its on a Monday night!
Who does a show on a Monday night???
Strange indeed!

I was a fan of the Smashing Pumpkins. Good to hear about him.

BTW, is Zwan any good? I haven't heard it yet.

I know why you like Ovals, WC.

As far as Zwan...i only listened to a tiny bit at the store once.
Those Scan things.
You put on the Headphones, scan the barcode and it plays samples.
What i heard sounded good...but very pop.
With a 1960's influence.
I liked it a bit because i like that Kula Shaker sound.
Although, Zwan sound nothing like the great Kula Shaker.
I didnt buy the CD for 2 reasons.

1. The obvious ripoff price of $18.99
2. I dont care for Billy C. voice that much.
Its mostly the great guitar work of James Iha in Smushed Pumpkins that i liked.
Especially the song 'ZERO'.

So...download some Zwan MP3's to help you see if you like it.

Its too bad that the new PERFRCT CIRCLE CD wont have James on it though.
But i'm sure he will be killer live.

Oh man... YAWN! Sorry Kula, I can't think of more sleep indicing music than the Pumpkins, Iha, and (especially) Zwan, etc.

Saw A Perfect Cirle on their first tour (w/NIN) a couple of years ago... although it didn't bug me, it hardly filled me with inspiration.

I'm sure it will do fine on the radio though.

Who cares? That cute bassist is gone, so no more interest for me. Especially after they replaced her with fucking Twiggy Ramirez, for God's sake!
