It's pretty good, it is actually probably his best, he is still doing that sort of soft-spoken, melo-guitar style of his, you can definitely see Eno's influence in his work this time which is perfect. He is a great artist.

Name : Sylvain Blondeau

Job : Graphic designer

Age : 27

From : Québec city

I got really Voivod when Outer Limits came out. I knewn about them before but I tought it was too weird. I was a fan of Away art works before the music if I remember well. That post nuclear psycho twisted vibe mark me at first. I buyed all the back catalogue and never regret it. I'm hooked since then. I rarely post here but I read the post almost everyday (I'm a away kind of person).

I'm into : Today is the Day, Necrophagia, Napalm Death, Motorhead, Slayer, Thor, Cathedral, Vader and of course Voivod.

I like beer too !

I like your snazzy nametag, Noitall. That'd be cute for parties and mixers.

In response to BCoD's personal query to which past board members naively answered, how about a quote from one of my other favorite bands, Sleater-Kinney, - -
"Show Me Your Riffs!"

And to Blacky - yes about Peaches.

Nuclear I., fellow South Texan in the house, er, uh, message board.

Hey Vroom, you do paragliding, too?

Hey Cochroach. Running up those traininghills is hell

I haven't done any great cross country flights yet, one more upgrade to my license to do first, only a few weeks of mountainflying so far. But we have some great ridges here by the coast, 7-8 hours is easy if its a good day and if the stomach can cope for so long

I talked to a buddy a few days back when he came home from Italy, it collapsed on him at 60 meters, and the lucky bastard spun straight into one of the trees. That made his day, and those to come too.

I'm going to scan a bunch of pics from some places, i'll mail you a link man.

You got that right - if you haven't heard 'Tri Repeate' or 'Garbage' you should track them down.
Have you heard much of their alter-ego 'Gescom'; normally reserved for even more abstract soundscapes. On ebay this stuff goes for £*** figure sums though!

Hey Mr. Eddy, I was pleased to see the name of la Mano Negra in your favorites. Did you hear Manu Chao's live album? It's an ass-kicker, especially when you've seen him live!

That's it. I have "King Kong Five" in my head! Bastard!

Hey Maldoror...I didn't expect to find any Mano Negra fans around here, but this Forum keeps surprising me!
I still haven't heard Manu's new live CD (and it came out in DVD as well! ). I own his 2 solo studio efforts (Clandestino e Proxima Estacion: Esperanza) plus all of the Mano Negra catalog (except for a live record called Amerika Perdida).
I saw Mano Negra live twice in 1992, here in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and it was kick-ass experience!

Do you by any chance like Urban Dance Squad too? They were yet another really underrated European band (if it wasn't for UDS there wouldn't be Rage Against the Machine and all the other wanna-bes).

Mmmh, not too familiar with UDS. Do you know Les Négresses Vertes?

My wife used to be a big fan of french punk, like Mano Negra, Bérurier Noir and Ludwig Von 88.

And Clandestino is still one of the best fucking records of the past few years. Tequila, sexo y marijuana!

Glad to surpise you. Sleater-Kinney are one of my most favorite bands these days.

Do you mean specifically the indie film "Songs for Cassavetes" which featured several bands from the KRS label? Yeah, well, I haven't seen it, but I know it includes "Words + Guitar" from S-K and that song does rock.

I once checked out Sleater-Kinney at the now defunct Starfish room (formerly Club Soda)in Vancouver and experienced a most enjoyable time! This show happened before the very controversial employee change thanks to some trumped up charges by the new cheapskate management! Yup, them were the daze: I used to finangle my way onto the guest list and then, once inside, I used to hang out with a friend of mine's attractive bartending wife who quite often would feed me with free beer! I used to arrive early to shows - what can I say, my life is very boring sometimes - and this got alot of people to believe that I also worked at the Starfish Room. Then again, alot of people do not know what I am like when I am sober! Okay, and now for the one time only almost Top Secret bio of (GASP!!!) El Indio...

Stage Name: El Indio
Real Name:
Ancestory: Spanish (Heh, heh!)
Age: 36
Hometown: New Westminster, B.C., Canada (I live about 2 blocks away from the Royal Towers)
Profession: I survive in the local printing industry. Until recently, I was an endentured pre-press apprentice who worked with film (stripping, assembly, proofing, camera work, etc.) and also made plates for both sheetfed and web presses. I also have some experience using Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark Xpress, imposition and trapping software, etc. On top of all of this, I was also in charge of handling our department's supplies inventory as well as filing and keeping track of all of our substantial library of film and ctp dockets. Unfortunately my "elite" pre-press days appear to be over - at least for the foreseeable future. There is some very profound changes happening in the printing industry and most of it has to do with the way the traditional pre-press operates. Thanks to the computer, most of the pre-press jobs have become obsolete. Our department went from having about 30 or 40 employees back in the early eighties to about 8 employees now and 2 of these survivers are still facing the chopping block! Myself? Luckily over the years I have built up a fairly high level of experience and senority which allowed me to go back to the - please do not laugh - bindery. I could have gone back to the press room but unfortunately I fear that, in regards to that department, my number is almost up - is only a matter of time before I end up in a horrible industrial accident! You have heard of double jeopardy? I suffer from triple jeopardy! I'm left handed; I have terrible eyesight; and I am a nervous wreck! So I have swallowed my pride and went back to the bindery where I am now getting into both ink-jet and paper label mailing! Not to forget relearning all about saddle-stitchers, folders, and guillotine cutters... I may end up in the pre-press again - I know everyone quite well in that department and also take great pains at getting along with virtually everyone at that plant! I also have the right of first refusal should another apprenticeship come up in that department... Aww shit, I'm starting to get depressed!

Hobbies: Reading war (mainly Vietnam and W.W.2) books, biographies, historical and geographical themed books; computers and the internet; camping; drinking beer; listening to music (hard rock, metal, indie, basically anything which attracts my attention); hanging out in my off hours at my friend's indie record and distribution store; sleeping; eating.

Damn, now I'm both depressed and self-conscious!

El Indio, what a funny story!!! i was a stripper/plate maker/dark room photographer/minor typesetter for almost 9 years in north east texas (working for a business forms manufacturer). when we moved out to south carolina last year, the only work i could find in printing, was... (*drumroll*)...BINDERY! so now i run folders, stitchers, and an 18th century die cutting press, haha....i can say (somewhat thankfully) that i will make more this year (at a lower rate of pay than my previous top pay in texas)-through virtue of grueling overtime- than i ever have in my life, tho. haha. isnt printing wonderful?
