for the 2nd time this week, I went record-hunting through town to find the new album... for the 2nd time I really was disappointed... at least I can still listen to the advance music a good friend of mine hooked me up with!yesterday though, there was a *remarkable* fact which made it somewhat worth mentioning. it all began when I stepped into an independant record store, usually having cool imports and rare colletion vynils...
- Hi!
- Hi!
- Will you have the new Voivod CD and when?
- Oh, our canadian friends have a new album out?
(he knows about Voivod... OK I thought)
- YEEES!
- I don't think I'll list it...
(looking at that guy in total dismay)
- what?
- I don't think I'll list it, at least until it does very well...
- It will!
- They never did that good(...)
- Oh, but this time they will!
- You may be right, I think they really deserve it afer all those years! tHey always were so underrated.
(the guy is becoming my friend, obviously)
- They will for sure, if only for the fact that Jason Newsted is in the band(...)
- NEWSTED'S IN THE BAND?
- Yes!
- He really is on the album?
(an eerie evil flame of pleasure lightens the guy's eyes)
- Yes, he plays bass and he produced it also...
- Oh, I see then... what's the CD's name again?
- Voivod
(he notes in his agenda... "Voivod: Voivod... see if possible")
- Okay, I'll see if I can have it
- Ccool, I guess we'll have to wait and see, thanks!
makes me wonder who is distributing the CD in Europe and here in France... if record dealers are not even aware that there's a new CD out, it will never be on the shelves...
and apparently Virgin.uk does better than Virgin.fr - a question of alliances maybe - cos there's still no fucking trace of it here!
