Hello fellow Voivod fans,I don’t want to misuse the purpose of this site, so please forgive me if I’m out of line. I’ve met some cool acquaintances from this site who have been very supportive of my band, Death & Taxe$ and I just thought that I would share some of our bad news, and ask you for your help (if anyone is interested).
My bass player, friend, and songwriting partner, Tom Shannon, died last week. Cancer ate his brain. (He’s actually the guy that introduced me to Voivod). Anyway, my band was gearing up for another full length recording. The drummer and I decided it would be best to continue this recording project as a memorial to him. After that, we’re not sure if we’ll go on as Death & Taxe$ without him.
Anyway, what I’m here to announce to you guys is that our previous two discs are for sale for cheap. I guess you could call it a going out of business sale. I’m selling these discs for $14 bucks for the both of them (that includes shipping) strictly to raise money to fund this last CD we want to put out as a memorial. If I happen to sell more than enough, than the rest of the money will go to his wife that he left behind. I’m not asking for charity or a handout, but I’m just hoping that some of you might dig us enough to buy our material. We’re not the greatest or the heaviest band around, but we tried to do something different. Voivod was a huge influence on us. I think Voivod fans might get a kick out of the songs “The Woodpecker Song”, “Invisible Man”, “Frenetic Genetic Overdrive”, “Diet of Worms” or “Fighting the Bromides” for starters.
