Any Primus fans here? I noticed 'Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade' have a new CD out titled 'Purple Onion.' Anybody heard this one?

The old Primus stuff was excellent. I digg their stuff right up until Rhinoplasty. Too bad Antipop and Oysterhead were kinda letdowns, but rumour has it Herb may be back on the cheesy ship for the next album, whenever that may be.

Uhm... y'know, i thought AntiPop was probably their best since Seas of Cheese.. Just my opinion.

The Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel was decent, too. Highball with the Devil.

I like the Race Car Driver song and especially that vid for the tune. But anything else by him I don't get. I find Les kind of annoying. Talented but annoying.

I thought Frizzle Fry and Seas of Cheese are their 2 best ones. Antipop's got a few good tunes, Laquerhead's cool. Check out Sausage if ya get a chance, talented bass and annoyingly funny but entertaining vox/lyrics in my opinion.

They make wicked videos! My old VHS of 'Cheesy Home Video' has to be right up there with say...'The Shining' and 'Home Tapings: The Simpsons/Southpark/Married With Children' for the most amount of times played

I'll second you Skul about Antipop, I think it's a great album!

Herb coming back? well, I couldn't have anything against it, he's a fantastic drummer, but Brain is excellent too and he brought so much energy and freshness to the band...
(I still can't believe Brain and Buckethead are playing in Guns n Roses - sounds like a waste of talent...)

PRIMUS showed metal heads how to be different and 'think outside the box' and I think they are brilliant; however, they seemed to just start rehshing the same bit after 'Pork Soda' and it just didn't seem fresh anymore. I think this is due to Les' lyrics and vocals, they just became redundant and corny, and no matter who he plays with it sounds like a Primus tune. I love the first 3 or 4 cds and Sausage was cool, the Frog Brigade is interesting because they cover some great songs (including King Crimson's Matte Kudasai). I'll have to look into the new release to see what it's about.
