Hello,This is Ron Levine, drummer for Holocaust. King Kula was kind enough to let me know about the recent thread on here about our influence on Voivod. Ironically, John Mortimer (to whom I will direct this site as soon as his dead computer is back up and running!) will be the first to tell you that the killer "The Sound of Souls" EP from 1989 was wholly influenced by Voivod, particularly KT and DH. I'm glad some folks on here have discovered our stuff, and I'd like to mention that we have a special new mp3.com CD called "War in Heaven / Hell on Earth" coming out shortly (probably next week). In addition to having four tracks from our forthcoming official CD "Primal" (due in September), it also has four older and very rare tracks, including three tracks from the same Voivod-influenced EP mentioned above. These tracks have been out of print for years, and this is the first time they have been reissued in any format. For those who haven't yet, you can check out our mp3s and the new CD at http://www.mp3.com/nwobhm_holocaust and we have additional clips, news updates, and much more at our home page at http://www.holocaustmetal.com. Feel free to drop us a line anytime. Best, Ron -- http://www.holocaustmetal.com http://www.mp3.com/nwobhm_holocaust

Hi Schroeder:The Holocaust back catalogue has been licensed to Sanctuary for issue in the US (for the first time!). So unfortunately, it is very difficult to get our CDs at the moment, but it should become much easier than it has ever been in the near future (especially in the US). As you mentioned, there is no question that Holocaust has evolved with every CD. Each one is very different, and that will continue to be evident on Primal. Glad you have found us through this board. I can tell you all that when John Mortimer gets back online (hopefully soon!), he's going to be very excited to find out that people have been finding us through the Voivod fan board! Ron...I thank BLACKY for mentioning you guys. Speaking of...WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN lately...BLACKY? (Probably keeping busy with his Business & things.) I am VERY VERY VERY happy to hear about the Sanctuary Deal! I want to buy ALL the Holocaust Catalogue...but so far have only 'Nightcomers' and 5 Mp3 Songs. I cant get that Song 'Victory?' out of my Head! It has become part of my Brain. Thats a good thing for me though. Look forward to hearing from John M.! Did John do what I want to do to MY Computer?...Take a HAMMER to it!? To awnser your question, I have been playing since 1979. Off & On...here and there. My strangest stint was with a Country Band in Cobleskill, New York. Up in the Catskill Mountains...yee ha! All the Songs were in 3/4 Time! That was a booring experience. I have played in other various Bands. Dallas area mostly. I used to work with the former Bass player from DISTURBED. Jay Scott. We worked at the same Distribution Center...that is where we met. Also did some recording with the Bass player of HAMMERWITCH. That was a total riot! Just ran into him over at Murphy's Music the other Day! He has cut all his Hair off! HA! Other Bands were Nexxt, Eclipse, Liquid Sun and some others i wont mention. ANYWAYS! Currently i am not doing much. I have a very small Studio here in my Apt. ROLAND V-DRUMS (TD-10 Module), Couple of Keyboards...Other Recording Equipment and so on. I hope to get working on some Evil Keyboard Music sometime soon. Got a lot of Ideas floating around. Be sure to check out the GEARHEADS section of the Forum! You and John...when he gets back. Interresting posts in there.
